Summary:his article presents tools related to the design methods that, in the regional context of Tolima, have contributed to the analysis of situations where there is evidence of a lack of social awareness, reflected in the behavior of individuals in relation to the environment in which they live. This has required the creation of creative communities conformed by students, teachers and leaders of organizations that use the collaborative narrative to identify experiences that can achieve empathy towards specific users in case studies oriented from the academy. The Classroom Integrating Projects —PIA (by its Spanish acronym)—  in the Unified National Corporation of Higher Education —CUN— are taken as a basis, which follow a qualitative methodology such as Design Thinking, to involve the target group of each project in the definition of audience profile, ideas and construction of the prototypes towards obtaining data that contributes to possible futures for the region. In that sense, it is hoped to contribute to the construction of a culture for the quality of life, the recovery of symbolic aspects, the development of skills and the projection of communicative elements in the middle of the informative universe that is perceived through the new media, used for Research+Creation.
