In this context, public space is not allowed to properly define itself as articulator and condenser of social life. Moreover, the current conditions of production are far from providing certainties and solid foundations from which to start thinking about. Recognizing this disciplinary scenario, the present article tries to reflect on the possibilities of intervention on non–consolidated, peripheral, marginalized urban situations. These unstable, entropic territories are questioning conventional methodological tools, this leading to imagining creative and novel forms of observation and action in the city that account for this complex reality instead of reducing it to simple or synthesized expressions. Thus, this work makes a double review: on the one hand, it proposes to explore alternative methodologies to perform analysis on how to go about experiencing the public space; on the other, it tries to encourage the development of diagrammatic strategies for architectural / urban intervention in contexts of indetermination. Las ciudades contemporáneas, latinoamericanas fundamentalmente, experimentan complejos procesos de dispersión, no solo física, sino también social y simbólica. En este contexto, el espacio público se resiente en su capacidad de definirse como articulador y condensador de la vida social. A su vez, las condiciones de producción actuales distan mucho de aportar certezas y bases sólidas sobre las cuales sustentarse. Reconociendo este escenario disciplinar, el presente artículo intenta reflexionar acerca de las posibilidades de intervención en situaciones urbanas no consolidadas, periféricas, marginadas. Estos territorios, inestables, entrópicos, le están haciendo interrogantes a los instrumentos metodológicos convencionales, lo que conduce a imaginar creativas y novedosas formas de observación y acción en la ciudad que den cuenta de esta realidad compleja y no la reduzcan a expresiones sencillas o sintetizadas. De este modo, el trabajo hace una doble revisión: Por una parte, se propone explorar metodologías alternativas para realizar análisis sobre la experiencia de lo público; y por otro, se intenta avanzar hacia el desarrollo de estrategias diagramáticas para la intervención arquitectónica/urbanística en contextos de indeterminación.
