Miguel Design thinking as a theoretical-methodological perspective that arises in the academic field of design disciplines, through a series of attributes and tools allows re-thinking some integral university practices in the territory. Thinking about the role of the public university in the co-construction of the territorial dimensions, both at the conceptual level and in specific areas of intervention, requires a permanent analysis and critique for the generation of updated devices to the emerging problems of living in life daily of the territories. This article systematically presents some key conceptual positions on the articulation between the knowledge of design thinking, territory, and university approaches from an integral perspective of functions, disciplines and knowledge. Finally, the development of an intervention case in the University of the Republic of Uruguay, designed based on the previously discussed concepts, is presented. El pensamiento del diseño en tanto perspectiva teórico-metodológica que surge en el campo académico de las disciplinas proyectuales, a través de una serie de atributos y herramientas permite re-pensar algunas prácticas integrales universitarias en territorio. Pensar el rol de la universidad pública en la co-construcción de las dimensiones territoriales, tanto a nivel conceptual como en territorios específicos de intervención, requiere de un análisis y crítica permanente para la generación de dispositivos actualizados a las problemáticas emergentes del habitar en la vida cotidiana de los territorios. Este artículo presenta de forma sistemática algunas posturas conceptuales claves sobre la articulación entre los saberes del pensamiento del diseño, el territorio, y los abordajes universitarios desde una perspectiva de integralidad de funciones, disciplinas y saberes. Finalmente se presenta el desarrollo de un caso de intervención en la Universidad de la República del Uruguay, diseñado a partir de los conceptos previamente discutidos.
