Suelos suburbanos, prácticas de parcelación, usos del suelo, desarrollo sostenible The present article seeks to identify the connections and ruptures of collective rights to nature as part of the urbanization processes of suburban lands in the municipalities of Filandia and Montenegro in the Department of Quindío. The text addresses the implementation of the rules regarding the use and occupation of these areas; the identification of the different actors involved in the parceling process; and the historiographic revision of the landscape to show the changes of land uses in these processes.The main results are the violation of the norms that regulate the use and occupation of suburban land; it was also evident that there are no practices of parceling or rural subdivision associated with sustainable developments, generating environmental conflicts such as the increasing demand of water resources, the transformation of the landscape, the depletion of native flora and fauna and the loss of suitable soils for agricultural activity, and putting food sustainability at risk.The main recommendation is for local administrations that see an alternative development in these processes, but because of being devoid of land management and financing instruments, prevent the capture of the returns obtained by the private ones. Este artículo busca identificar las conexiones y rupturas de los derechos colectivos a la naturaleza en los procesos de urbanización de los suelos suburbanos en los municipios de Filandia y Montenegro en el Departamento de Quindío. El texto aborda la implementación de las normas al respecto del uso y la ocupación de estos suelos; la identificación de los diferentes actores que intervienen en el proceso de parcelación; y la revisión historiográfica del paisaje para evidenciar los cambios de usos del suelo en estos procesos.Como principales resultados se destacan la vulneración del conjunto de normas que regula el uso y la ocupación del suelo suburbano; así mismo se evidenció que no hay prácticas de parcelación – subdivisión rural asociado a desarrollos sostenibles, generando conflictos ambientales como la demanda en aumento del recurso hídrico, la transformación del paisaje, el agotamiento de la flora y fauna nativa y la pérdida de suelos aptos para la actividad agrícola, poniendo en riesgo la sostenibilidad alimentaria.La principal recomendación es para las administraciones locales que ven una alternativa de desarrollo en estos procesos, pero que, al estar desprovistos de instrumentos de gestión y financiación del suelo, impiden la captura de las rentabilidades obtenidas por los privados.
