Resumo:This paper deals with the topic of housing deficit and it concentrates on one of its aspects -overcrowding- The topic is here linked with the changes undergone by the housing policies, the economic growth and the rising of new forms of poverty. Special mention is made of the Provincia of Mendoza due to the characteristics there presents regards the magnitude and evolution of this phenomenon. It is here thus intended to call the attention to a topic most often neglected in political decisions regarding housing.
