Sumario:Boyacá’s bridge, historical milestone of the bolivarian independence, declared national monument, and pretext of several initiatives of regionalization in Boyacá, constitutes the study area of the research into the effects of tourists on the local development. The research determines some conditions in order that this tourist attraction propitiates territorial development and the local integration. Attention is given to the complex relationship between cultural tourism and territorial development, and analysis is made of the level of success as a tourist structure, and the capacities and limitations. This is so that this becomes a project where the generated wealth is transferred to the local population in the form of better services and improved well-being. There is an increase in the local aptitude for autonomy, and utilization collective is guaranteed, and regulated by the local population.
