Sumario:In the 1880s, the arrival of the railroad to the city of Junín was a determining factor for their growth and development and their positioning in the northwest region of Buenos Aires. The identity of the city and its inhabitants would be closely linked to the railway activity since the installation of a railway workshop. This work is based on a survey of technical drawings belonging to the railway workshop, a documentary corpus that has not been previously explored. The research sought to clarify the state of the railway buildings in Junín between 1884 and 1850. A historical reading, both rail and urban, of the development of the city was performed, which allowed understand the railway archipelago, made by the multiplicity of buildings scattered in the city. At the same time, past and current railroad buildings situation were compared. This built heritage constitutes a legacy for the city, not only for its architectural value, but also for its symbolic and cultural signi cance.
