description	In the 1880s, the arrival of the railroad to the city of Junín was a determining factor for their growth and development and their positioning in the northwest region of Buenos Aires. The identity of the city and its inhabitants would be closely linked to the railway activity since the installation of a railway workshop. This work is based on a survey of technical drawings belonging to the railway workshop, a documentary corpus that has not been previously explored. The research sought to clarify the state of the railway buildings in Junín between 1884 and 1850. A historical reading, both rail and urban, of the development of the city was performed, which allowed understand the railway archipelago, made by the multiplicity of buildings scattered in the city. At the same time, past and current railroad buildings situation were compared. This built heritage constitutes a legacy for the city, not only for its architectural value, but also for its symbolic and cultural signi cance.

La llegada del ferrocarril a Junín, en la década de 1880, resultó determinante para su crecimiento y desarrollo, y para su posicionamiento en la región del noroeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires. La identidad de la ciudad y sus habitantes quedaría ligada íntimamente a la actividad ferroviaria a partir de la instalación de un complejo de talleres. El presente trabajo se basa en el relevamiento de planos técnicos pertenecientes a dichos talleres, un corpus documental que no ha sido explorado previamente. La investigación buscó clari car el estado de los edi cios ferroviarios en Junín entre 1884 y 1950. Se realizó una lectura histórica del desarrollo de la ciudad, tanto ferroviaria como urbana, lo cual permitió entender el archipiélago ferroviario, conformado por una multiplicidad de construcciones esparcidas en la ciudad. A su vez, se contrastaron situaciones edilicias pasadas y actuales del ferrocarril en Junín. Este patrimonio construido se constituye en un legado para la ciudad, no solo por su valor arquitectónico, sino también por su signi cación simbólica y cultural. A chegada da ferrovia em Junín, na década de 1880, foi um fator determinante para o crescimento e desenvolvimento e seu posicionamento na região noroeste da província de Buenos Aires. A identidade da cidade e seus habitantes estariam intimamente ligados à atividade ferroviária a partir da instalação de um complexo de o cinas mecânicas ferroviárias. Este trabalho é baseado em uma pesquisa de desenhos técnicos pertencentes às o cinas mecânicas, um corpus documental que não tenha sido explorada anteriormente. A pesquisa procurou esclarecer o estado dos edifícios ferroviários em Junín entre 1884 e 1950. Uma leitura histórica da cidade, tanto ferroviário e urbano foi realizada, o que permitiu compreender o arquipélago ferroviário feita pela multiplicidade de edifícios dispersos em a cidade. Por sua vez, as situações passadas e atuais edilícias ferrovia em Junín foram comparados. Este patrimônio edi cado constitui um legado para a cidade, não só pelo seu valor arquitetônico, mas também pelo seu signi cado simbólico e cultural.
