Researchers often consider in our studies criteria that could bias the results, for example, the general information of the censuses, ranges or averages of certain indicators and even recommendations suggested by prestigious colleagues, all of them of undoubted value, certainly, more could suffer from one issue: the lack of correspondence to the local and even temporary realities of the particular sites and case studies. Una de las principales críticas que expresamos quienes tenemos el interés de comprender las condiciones de vida que las viviendas ofrecen a sus moradores, es el hecho incuestionable de la diferencia cultural y ambiental que prevalecen en las distintas regiones de nuestro país y la omisión que de éstas hacen principalmente quienes producen la vivienda social en México. Con frecuencia los investigadores solemos considerar en nuestros estudios criterios que pudieran sesgar los resultados, por ejemplo, la información general de los censos, rangos o promedios de ciertos indicadores y hasta recomendaciones sugeridas por prestigiados colegas, todos ellos de valor indudable, ciertamente, más pudieran adolecer de una cuestión: la falta de correspondencia a las realidades locales y aún temporales de los sitios y casos de estudio particulares.
