With no prejudice about aesthetic adoptions of the educational buildings he analyses, the author gives priority, over other criteria, to pedagogical variables behind the project of educational space of modernity. In this sense he managed to settle as an inescapable reference for those seeking to address the relationships between architecture and pedagogy in the dimension of its historical process. La Escuela Nueva, el libro publicado por Alfred Roth en 1950, permite abordar el proyecto del espacio educativo moderno como un problema de escala transcontinental en el contexto más amplio de difusión de las ideas de la cultura arquitectónica durante la primera mitad del siglo XX.Sin prejuicios en cuanto a las adopciones estéticas singulares de los edificios educativos que analiza, el autor priorizó, por sobre otros criterios, las variables pedagógicas involucradas en el espacio educativo de la modernidad. En este sentido, logró instalarse como una referencia insoslayable para quienes pretendan abordar las relaciones entre arquitectura y pedagogía en la dimensión de su proceso histórico.
