Summary:This paper aims to check postmodern theories spread in Peru against an architectural project. The Juvenal Baracco’s Peruvian Air Force Officer Training School (1981-1984) was chosen as study case because it is a representative —and barely known— example of the postmodern thought in the early 80’s. The school’s original proposal —including buildings and details not performed in the work— was taken as a reference to explain the criticism to modernity with an architecture that puts aside historicisms and folklorisms but establishes complex relationships in its composition through a process of abstraction, imagination and reinterpretation of Lima’s spatial typology.
