We have tested this new methodology in case studies. Based on this experience, we have obtained results that demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of our proposal, which has helped increase students’ academic performance. When making hybrid drawings, we explore new possibilities of communication design and architecture, while uniting the intuition and expressiveness of hand drawing with the precision of CAD and the visibility of 3D models. The article discusses the results of two case studies that are being conducted through an institutional support along with two other projects in process which, at present, are at an early stage of definition, but are beginning to denote important findings. These cases and projects cover the entire academic spectrum, from basic graphic training of first-year students, the teaching of final year projects to graduate research projects. Based on all of this we are exploring new teaching methods, while demonstrating the usefulness and intention of the digital drawing in architecture. El objetivo de esta investigación es plantear una nueva forma de docencia del dibujo a mano alzada en base a dispositivos táctiles, tablet-pc’s, aplicada a la enseñanza del dibujo y los proyectos de arquitectura. Para ello hemos ensayado esta nueva metodología en forma de estudio de casos. En base a esta experiencia, hemos obtenido resultados que demuestran la viabilidad y eficacia de nuestra propuesta, que ha permitido aumentar el rendimiento académico de los alumnos. Mediante un dibujo híbrido exploramos nuevas posibilidades del dibujo de concepción y de comunicación arquitectónica, a la vez que unimos la intuición y expresividad del dibujo a mano alzada con la precisión del CAD y la visibilidad de los modelos 3D. En este trabajo describimos los resultados de dos estudios de caso que estamos llevando a cabo gracias a una ayuda institucional junto con otros dos proyectos en proceso que, por el momento, se encuentran en una primera fase de definición, pero que ya empiezan a denotar conclusiones importantes. Casos y proyectos que cubren todo el espectro académico, desde la formación gráfica básica del alumno de los primeros cursos, pasando por la enseñanza de los proyectos de fin de carrera, llegando incluso a la investigación de postgrado. En base a todo ello estamos explorando nuevas metodologías pedagógicas, a la vez que demostramos la utilidad e intencionalidad del dibujo digital en el campo arquitectónico.
